Cheryl Van Kempen (alias Geocheryl) is the initiator and community manager of Rural Web. She is presently vlogging and blogging about learning to vlog.
Cheryl is a TCK – Third Culture Kid. Meaning that she grew up in several countries and on more than one continent. After having lived in West Africa for ten years (Guinée, the Gambia & Burkina Faso) she vowed to always stay in touch with the continent.
Cheryl now lives in the Netherlands, is married and has kids. She works at the groundwater department of Deltares in Utrecht. Next to her work, she considers herself an independent volunteer; meaning that she does what she can to contribute to a better world. RuralWeb is part of that endeavor. Cheryl wants to help people achieve more aided by ICT. Life long learning and teaching as you learn are part of RuralWeb’s philosophies. In that context this blog was started, to allow you to follow what it’s like to learn to vlog.
